I'm only commenting on "Impossible Planet" right now. I have yet to rewatch the second part. Anyways ...
I could go on for hours about how I love the ambiguity of the Beast. All those sixes that calculate how the planet stays in orbit. Is it Satan? Is it the orginal evil that all mythology comes from? Probably not. Come on. This is Doctor Who.
Oh I know! I love the ambiguity. I'm fairly certain the Beast is just a really evil alien feeding off of the stories he's heard about Satan, but then there's these moments throughout the episode where he acts so altogether Evil that I'm like, "Satan, is that you?" xP
Oh and here’s more of Rose being not clingy. (Seriously, where does fandom get the “Series 2 Rose is clingy” meme?) The Doctor wants to go explore what is down in the center of the planet. What does Rose do? Does she protest? Does she insist on coming along? Nope, she gives him a kiss on the helmet and sends him on his way, with instructions to come back to her.I swear I said the exact same thing last night whilst I was watching
( ... )
Tinhatter moment: Danny says “Mysterious couple. How are you then? Settling in?”. And the Doctor and Rose don’t bother to correct him whereas with Donna and the Doctor they were always very quick to correct them. Ok. Taking off the tinhat now and moving on to the next episode.
You are so right and I had never noticed this before! Nine and Rose deny being a couple, so do Ten and Donna and (if memory serves...?) Ten re. Martha. But you are right, here he changes the subject but neither makes the usual knee-jerk categorical denial. Thanks for pointing that out!
The fact that that little ending scene in the Tardis was the last thing that David and Billie shot for series 2 just makes that line that much more poignant.
Oh, I'd forgotten that! Thanks so much for the reminder, cos that's another thing I adore about this ep.
And the bit where they don't deny they're a couple - very nice catch. XD
