"Charley!" The Doctor... or a third of him, at any rate, bounces over, grabbing the girl's hands to spin her around. "I didn't know you were here too!"
"Oh no! No no no," he reassures her. "I only got this yesterday. It's not old at all!"
He laughs at her question though. "I'm not even sure what all I've got in here myself, you know. It might be fun to try to empty them out." He thinks about this for a while. "Actually, that could get boring quickly. You're in a very good mood today, Charley, has something good happened?"
The Doctor's grin broadens. "Awww, Charley, how sweet! So then! What's the last big adventure we had?"
It made him happy to think of back then. Before the Divergent Universe. Before all of that so very icky nonsense with Zagreus. Just him and Charley, going around, seeing the sights, exploring, having fun, all of it.
Oh, how very unfortunate that Mila had not gotten more information from Charley before she left the girl to her own devices. Really, Charley, that terrible girl had probably tricked her into this. Charley was probably laughing at her right now.
But this was hardly the time to get upset over it. Not when she was so close to her goal. Not when she was right here with the Doctor, with her Doctor. She hardly planned on just giving up... so she took a shot in the dark.
"Oh, well... that business with the Daleks."
After all, the Doctor was always tussling with the Daleks, wasn't he? Of course he was.
"Oh! The Daleks!" Hmmn, thinks the Doctor. Hmmn. That whole terrible Zagreus business happened not too terribly long after that stuff with the Daleks, didn't it? Yes, yeah. Yep, it did.
He laughs. "Shouldn't be too much longer before you meet C'rizz then! Oh Charley, you'll love him! Absolutely love him. He's Eutermesan, you know. Actually, I suppose you wouldn't. Oh there I go, giving things away. Sorry, Charley."
And then he laughs again for good measure, because he got to say 'sorry Charley', just like that phrase people say all the time, even to people who aren't named Charley. It's funny!
Mila smiles until it feels like her face might break in too. (But that's impossible, isn't it? It's been ages since she's been able to smile but she does seem to think that's impossible.) She laughs along-side the Doctor, unable to imagine any place she'd rather be than at the his side.
"Well if you say so... I shall look forward to meeting him whenever the time comes."
"Of course," he says with a grin. "I probably shouldn't be telling you all of this."
Oh, but she did seem so very happy about it. Which... did seem a little odd, didn't it? Of course he was happy about it, but he's happy about everything. It's a fact he has come to terms with. But was Charley always this happy? Even before all that business with Zagreus. She does seem a little off. Was it just his memory failing him? He thought that the bad memory had ended up with one of his other selves though, so that didn't make sense.
"You know," he begins, seemingly changing the subject. "In the place I was before I came to this Nexus, there was this, this -- oh, you should have seen it -- it was this completely wonderful and magnificent and amazing park. Well, zoo. And in it were all sorts of wonderful things from many, many different places. There was this one huge bunny, for example, and you should have seen it! He was twiiiirling and twirling."
The Doctor laughs at the memory. Oh that rabbit.
"But it wasn't real. Not a real rabbit, I mean. Not like the sort of rabbits I'm used to, and I've seen a lot of rabbits. Who are you?"
She takes a step away from him, afraid and not certain what there is to be afraid of. The Doctor would never hurt anyone. Not ever. She's... she's sure of that, isn't she?
Before breaking out into laughter. "Mila? I use to know a girl named Mila. A loooooong time ago though. I looked different then. I had this, this coat, and it... well, that's not really important. You don't look like that Mila. Why do you look so much like Charley and keep borrowing names from people I know?"

"Unless it isn't you it's going to happen to."

"Not me? Doctor..."
She laughs nervously.
"I can't say I quite understand your meaning."

He holds out a hand for her to shake. "I'm the Doctor, but I suspect you know that already."

"I'm Charlotte Pollard. I'm Charley. You know that, Doctor."
She looks up at him, her too-wide eyes pleading for recognition and acceptance.

"I remember that coat," she says, slowly. "It was lovely."
Of course, Mila thinks most everything about the Doctor is lovely.
