It honestly doesn't matter to me which option(s) you choose, you are the ones entering the challenges so it should be fun for you. Personally, I prefer it when you don't have to use provided images as I think that choosing the right image is a key part of creating icons. But I'd like to add here if you do choose to use screen-caps, I'd prefer their to be more caps that less (i.e. 20+ caps)

Funny. Some people, like casett here look at this in a completely different way. ^^

I might do one or two challenges where I will pick one screencap you have to use for a third icon, just to mix it up with the themes. :)

I have exactly the opposite view to welshgirl15. Part of my enjoyment in icon contests is seeing what people do with the same caps. Free for alls just mean that there is no way to compare and skill in icon making and creativity isn't as big a criteria as what cap was picked (and can influence the judging since many vote on content rather than the icon itself).

One of the reason I always liked this comm is that there were many caps to choose from, but a limited number. There are many other comms for other kinds of contests.

That is what I like about dwo_stillness, seeing what different people do with the same 6 screencaps. On the other hand, I also like seeing what people do with the themes at dw_stillness and seeing which screencaps people choose from a certain episode here at dw_epicontest. ^^

I might do one or two challenges here where I will pick one screencap people will have to use for their third icon, just to mix it up with the themes. :)

Yes, I might do this in future with style themes. I do this at basic_icontest and so far it works well. :)

Classic Who is allowed at dw_stillness, here at dw_epicontest I think having whole challenges dedicated to one Classic Who episode won't fly, but I haven been considering doing challenges at dwo_stillness with 'unpopular' caps. Basically that's any cap that doesn't include any of the main New Who cast and Classic Who caps. How would you feel about that?

Right. No. Wait. My brain just woke up. When you say new series do you mean New Who, as opposed to Classic Who? Or do you mean series 5-6? If you mean the latter, series 6 challenges will be mixed with series 1-4 challenges.
