I might be... but it's a big might.
It is in November right???

I live in Sydney normally, and I'm only returning to Australia after a 7 month trip in the UK. I fly back home in September or October.

So it all depends on that money issue.
I want to come back to the UK in January/February... so a trip down to Melbourne, plus con tickets and accommadation, will be costly.
There will have to be some guest I really really want to see for me to make the trip down.

Worldcon is almost always over Labor Day weekend (the weekend closest to the first Monday in September, which is the Labor Day holiday here in the US).

This year is no exception. :)

Some info from the http://www.worldcon.org site:

2010: Aussiecon Four, Aussiecon Four the 68th World Science Fiction Convention, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Thursday 2 September - Monday 6 September 2010
email: info@aussiecon4.org.au
postal: Aussiecon Four, G.P.O. Box 1212, Melbourne, VIC 3001, Australia.

Worldcons are the major SF lit con and "float", meaning that they are in a different city each year. There may be some media guests, but the emphasis is on authors, artists, and the like. It's also a very expensive con as far as memberships go. :)

I don't know told it was November, but someone did and they were obviously wrong >_<
Tell that settles it... I'm not going, because I'm still on the plane back from England on Sep 2nd.
Oh well.
