Oswin Dress Pattern

Jan 25, 2013 11:34

So I was wondering if anyone had successfully used a modified pattern to make Oswin's Red Dress. I found a McCall's pattern (#2476) I think would be the perfect pattern to modify but it is vintage and out of print. I've found it online but it's a bit pricy. Are there any other patterns out there that I should keep an eye out for?

How handy are you at tweaking patterns? You could take a regular sheath dress Pattern- which there are lots of and tweak it to include reglan sleeves as shown. :)

That's a great pattern as it states that it is for knits--the neckline is the only real issue here. Although since it is for knits, the usual muslin mock-up/trial run probably won't work, so a really inexpensive knit seems like it's called for instead of muslin. I need to make a run to Jo-Anne's in the next few weeks, so maybe I'll see something there. (I always check the sale table for remnants, too.)

My girlfriend drafted her own pattern for it and will be wearing it to Gally. She MAY do a run of dresses after.
