I have a dilemma. I've been seaching for leather jackets for  quite a while, and I cannot, for the life of me, find one that fits me. If you're looking for real leather at under $50, that might be harder to find. :( Even the fake stuff can run much higher, sad to say (often of course it's just brand name label stuff at work).

You might try looking in charity shops/thrift stores, or consignment shops. Burlington Coat Factory advertises great prices, but I've always found them to be over-crowded with merchandise, and not such a steal on prices. Wilson's Leather and other leather coat shops might be a possibility. You could always have such a jacket made, but it would cost. Good leatherworkers are hard to locate as well, but if you know any historical costumers, they might know of one.

One last possibility: since bomber jackets could be consider nowadays a unisex clothing item, have you looked at guys' jackets? And there's always the army/navy surplus stores, if you live in or near a city.

HTH! Good hunting!

(JCP used to offer tall sizes through their catalog.)

You're welcome! I did glance at the leather jackets at Soldier City, a good place to buy an Ace jackets, but the three offered were not quite the thing, and were very pricey to boot!

Would tailor shops work with leather? If it's within your budget to take it somewhere to be tailored to your shape, that might be a good option. Especially if it's a coat you plan to use for years.
