Nice. I ended up just bleaching a pair of pink ones that I had had forever & never wore. Turned out pretty well.

If it's a natural fabric, yes, it's easy! RIT dye in a washing machine - the soles won't take the dye, just the shoes.
Remember to re-wash them before you wear them, otherwise your socks will be dyed too. And your feet. And yes, I'm speaking from experience.

Converse have the unfortunate problem of picking up dye on the rubber, though. I'd still be careful when dying to a dark color rather than tossing them in the washing machine.

I got mine off of Amazon. They were only $45 this past May.

Are people having trouble locating them or just finding white ones at thrift stores and needing to dye them?

No no...I just like being clever lol.

I have never seen a pair of natural white ones, I got optic white and whilst I was washing my red ones DING! IT HIT ME!
If i used tea i could dye my optic whites, theyd become like the natural white ones.

Now I dont know where I heard about doing it, if someone else did it before me. But I tried it, it worked.

It's a good idea, to be sure. I wasn't meaning to be rude. It's just that I was wondering why people were getting white ones to dye when the natural white were readily available for the same price I see other colors at a Converse store. But then again, a lot of people don't like buying online because of identity issues.

True, but scince I have Optic White Converse, which I planned to use for my Five and lots on Tetley Teabags in the kitchen.

Put it this way, if you can get the natural white ones, go for it. If not, heres an alternate suggestion.
