I would recommend taking them to a good, quality local shoe repair shop-- one that does custom work onsite and getting a quote. I've had alterations made to leather shoes for costume purposes, always a great deal and professional results-- you just have to be very specific (pictures help) about what you what done exactly, they have the tools and expertise and machines to sew leather and materials and know what they are doing and in my experience are usually very reasonable price wise.
