My hair is about Amy's length now, but very straight and bla (more like her season 5 hair). I really need to do something with it and since gally is quickly approaching, I thought I'd get it styled like her season 6 hair ( Read more... )

From what I remember it just looks like three gradual layers at the front of her face. If I remember to, I'll look for some pics.

I'd bring in caps from The Girl Who Waited of young!Amy. She has her hair down for the vast majority of the episode, after she's been in Red Waterfall for a week, and there's probably a few usable shots of the back of her hair in that episode as well. Basically just ask for long layers and some face framing layers in the front.

As a hair dresser, it's best to bring in a photo and explain you want your hair cut shorter in the front to frame your face, with the rest gradually getting longer in the back. Mention you want to keep the length but you'd like soft, long layers.

I have curly hair, and I love Alex's cut, so I took my computer with me (printer was down) and showed her a screencap of what I wanted.

If you know how to do this, ignore me--but Google "Doctor Who (episode here) screencaps"--and you'll find a great site and all of the season 6 eps are there. Hope this helps.
