Looks promising. I pretty much agree all around. The Walnut looks close to what I used for my current cravat/vest so that would be my vote. The Frost grey can work too (and looks closer to what I used for the MK I vest/cravat I had). I think either way you're better off sticking with the same silk for both items rather than mixing and matching. But in the end of course it's your call.

personally, i don't see the waistcoat trim and cravat as being the same color. close, perhaps, but not the same. when done in the same color, i also feel that it makes them look flat, due to the lack of contrast, however subtle.

I'm looking forward to seeing you bring the blue comic version to life. I liked that interpretation almost as much as the movie suit.

the currebt plan is to build a baseline version of my source patterns to better inform my alterations, followed by the blue coat version as a beta-test of the TVM version, followed finally by the green TVM version. i'm hoping to have the blue version ready for TimeGate and the green ready for Dragon*Con, but we'll just have to see how that goes...

Ooh, I really like the colour matching. I'd agree though, try to hold out for a lapel fabric just a touch darker.

there is a darker blue that i'll be requesting a swatch of. as for the green, a strange thing happened after i posted the above - when looked at 'head-on', the green silk looked lighter than the velvet, but when seen at an angle, it appeared almost as dark...
