Amy Pond Girl Who Waited FABRIC possibility

Sep 28, 2011 13:44

So like many, my eyes bleed polka dots these days. I decided to go on a little google hunt for FABRIC to see if there was anything out there that was close. Found one that's not too far off, actually.

mash-up for comparisons under here )

episode: the girl who waited, companion: amy, fabric, shirt/blouse

I LOVE YOU SO DEARLY. SO DEARLY. Now to find a way to get a few yards of it for the purpose of shirt and visor O:

Google! There were at least two online stores that carried it when I looked. Should I put links for them here?

Well, I think I've decided to pick up a couple of yards of this and make a more accurate shirt when I get the time.

has the scale of the pattern been determined to be correct yet?

Not as such, no. It's definitely DIFFERENT but these are decent sized dots, I've looked at a fair number of items made from it before posting it as a possibility here. I know it's not dead-on, the color of the spots on her shirt is slightly more blue and they're spaced out more. However, it's the first commercial fabric I've found to be even remotely close. If you want 100% accuracy, the best bet would be to design it on spoonflower, obviously.

I have ordered some and will be making the shirt, so when I do that, I can post pictures of what it's like in person. I have quite high hopes for it though!

so long as you're satisfied that it's reasonably close ;)

Quite! And it'll definitely get the point across. Plus, I'm just that tired of looking at polka dots xD

Hmm. Maybe I should get my grandma to teach me and I could fix our broken sewing machine.
