Hey all! So, I was one of the many Idrises at Dragon*Con this year. First of all, it was so lovely to meet so many of you at D*C. Doctor Who fans really are such a lovely fan group, I've got to say.

Also, I promised some folks I'd do an in-depth write-up of the costume (which I'm really bad about doing any more....) and post it here. So, uh... enjoy

I had no idea you were macbeemer!

I'm the Rebel Flesh Amy you met (I think I was wearing it when I met you) who fangirled your costume and talked to you for several minutes about it, saying my sister (freyalise) would be doing Idris on Sunday. Did you ever get a chance to see her costume?

I've got to say, out of all the Idris costumes I saw over the weekend, I think I like your color palette the best (Allison's comes second. :D). I absolutely love your lace too.

I'll do a more detailed comment when I get to work in the morning (in about 5 hours what) but I'm about to drop dead asleep so I need to go hit the hay for a few hours. :) One question before I go--are your boots the screen-accurate ones or did you just get some that looked similar?

HEY! I loved chatting with you guys! I wish we'd had more time! I actually completely missed freyalise on Sunday, but I did catch the photos, and she looks spectacular. :D

Thank you so much! Striking the right tone with the colors was a really important factor to me.

Boots are not screen accurate. Suranne's have an interesting, higher shaft height, and the color is kind of a mix of the two Steve Madden colors - heavy on the natural with a dash of cognac. The contrast between the light/dark value of the socks and boots shouldn't be quite so dramatic. Hers are also suede.
