Andy, Nate, Lily and Doug are seniors at NYU. Andy only has one more semester left before she graduates and everything in her life is right on course. Then she finds out that one of the last classes she needs in order to graduate is being taught this year by Miranda Priestly, universally considered the most difficult teacher in the school. Taking her class kills GPA’s, and nobody who has taken a class with her has passed with more than 'C' in years. Andy is determined to be the first. She needs to get a good grade in this class in order to get into the fellowship that she is applying for. At first she is completely overwhelmed, but she quickly becomes consumed with proving herself to Miranda and passing the class. The story pretty closely follows the plot of the movie, except in this college setting.
The major that Andy is studying and the class that Miranda is teaching are the writers choice.
I would prefer it if these two didn't sleep together while Andy was still one of Miranda's students, but again it's up to the author.
characters:
Andy: standard background applies. She and Nate moved to new york for grad school, and have been happily together for a few years now.
Miranda: World renowned in whatever field the author chooses to put her in. She is still unhappily married to Stephen and has the twins.
Cassidy/Caroline: still preteens. A nice subplot might be to have Andy tutor them in order to get extra help from Miranda.
Irv - university president, not at all fond of Miranda but unable to fire her either because of her reputation and her tenure.
Emily - TA
Nigel - Academic adviser/counselor.
Nate: In a culinary program, although he is also a frat boy.
As you can probably see I have put a lot of thought into it, and I might eventually write it myself, but I would love to see what a more experienced DWP writer could do with it.
