Just as Miranda was about to push open the front door to the townhouse she was stopped by the soft touch of Andy's hand on her shoulder. She turned around and met Andy's eyes.
"I had a really great night with you." Andy said. "Thank you."
Miranda smiled at Andrea. "There's no reason to thank me darling you were the one who suggested we get the hotel so I should be thanking you."
Andy smiled. "But it's not just last night, It's these past few days. You've been supporting me and giving me space and also being there for me. I love you so much more for it." she lifted her hand to cup Miranda's cheek.
Miranda leaned into Andrea's touch. "There's nothing I wouldn't do for you Andrea."
Andy smiled.
"You're my world." Miranda added softly before Andy could say anything.
They kissed tenderly, not caring if there was anyone around to see.
"Now let's go inside and see how our daughter enjoyed her night." Miranda said when they pulled apart.
Andy continued to smile, nodded her head and entered the house after her love. She took her coat and hung it up for her before they made their way down to the kitchen, hand in hand, where they would usually find the girls this time of the morning.
"Hey you two, how'd ya night go?" Andy asked as she perched herself on one of the bar stools.
Cassidy smiled. "We had a nice time."
"It was great. Thanks for giving us the house for the night." Lana said.
Both Andrea and Miranda smiled.
Miranda was thrilled that her daughter had found someone as loving as Alana. They were good together and Miranda hoped that Cassidy would stay with the young blonde. But with the ways they were looking at one another Miranda didn't think that would be a problem.
"Great." Andy replied grinning.
Miranda walked over to the coffee machine and turned it on. "I'm glad you enjoyed your night." she said to them both.
The front door opened and Andy poked her head around the corner of the kitchen door. She had been expecting to see Rosa so was surprised to see Alex walking inside. "Hey. What are you doing here?"
"What, don't want me here?" Alex asked with a raised eyebrow. "I'm hurt."
Andy laughed and rolled her eyes.
"I just came around to see if you wanted to come running with me?" Alex said. She stood in the doorway of the kitchen and gave Miranda and the girls a smile. "Morning."
"Good morning." Miranda replied and walked over to the other woman. "How are you?" she asked knowing that Alex had spent the previous night at her apartment without Sarah.
Alex shrugged. "I'm doing okay."
Miranda smiled. "That's good." she touched the womans shoulder and squeezed softly. "The room downstairs will be yours whenever you want it."
"Thank you. That's really kind." Alex replied. She turned to Andy. "That's gonna be real handy when we have drinking sessions."
"Definetely. You won't even have to bother catching a cab home you can just crash here!" Andy replied.
Miranda rolled her eyes at the two women and walked back into the kitchen.
"So, coming for that run or not?" Alex asked.
Andy looked over at Miranda. "Did we have anything planned this morning?" she asked and waggled her eyebrows.
"Oh, you're terrible." Miranda said with a chuckle knowing what Andrea had on her mind. "No, go for a run. I need to go over The Book this morning to give to Emily when I go into the office."
Andy laughed. "Alright. I'll go then."
Alex had watched in fascination at the little exchange they had shared. She knew what Andy had been suggesting to Miranda and she'd nearly laughed at the look Miranda gave Andy.
"C'mon you nympho, let's go for a run." Alex said. She sent a grin at Miranda before she turned and left the room.
Andy kissed Miranda. "I'll meet you in the shower in 45 minutes." she murmered to Miranda before she left the room quickly without letting Miranda reply.
After Andrea left, Miranda cleared her throat and ran a hand through her hair. It flustered her how much Andrea adored making love to her. She'd never had someone who always wanted to be intimate with her almost constantly. It made Miranda feel that much more loved.
Just those few whispered words from her love that Andrea was going to devour her in the shower in a little while had turned her on immensely and made her flustered. She looked over at Cassidy and Lana who were talking and laughing quietly totally oblivious to Miranda's current state.
"So, I was thinking we should go to the Pearl Oyster Bar again soon." Alex said. "Maybe we can go before Mum goes back home."
Andy nodded as they turned another corner. "Yeah, sounds good. I liked it there last time."
They continued running silently as they made their way through the park.
Alex caught side of the Elias-Clarke Publications building and stopped and turned to Andy. "Hey, I just remembered that there's something I gotta do. I'll catch up with you later?"
Andy nodded. "Yeah, alright."
They said their goodbyes and Andy went in the other direction.
Alex crossed the street when there were no cars and entered the Elias-Clarke Publications building. She grabbed a visitors card, went into the elevator and waited for it to bring her to the Runway floor.
Once on the floor she walked towards the assistants desk. She ignored the curious glances she was getting from random clackers. She pushed open the glass doors and spotted Emily at her desk. She was just hanging up the phone and scribbling something frantically down on a note pad.
"Hey." Alex said announcing herself.
Emily spun around and stared at the woman for a moment. "Hi." she said when she finally found her voice. Her heart began pounding in her chest as she gazed at the woman who was invading her thoughts 24/7. "How are you?" she asked.
"I'm doing alright I suppose." Alex replied. "I just wanted to come here because there's something I need to tell you."
Emily nodded. "Go on."
"Alright, so. I think it's best that the night we spent together was a one off." Alex said.
"Oh." Emily said. Her smile fell from her face. She began to get angry with herself for getting her hopes up.
"I can't be the girlfriend you want me to be. I'm still in love with Sarah and I think until I figure everything out we should just stay friends." Alex said.
Emily nodded. "Yes. Understandable." she replied. She looked back at her computer. "If you'll excuse me I've got a lot of work to do before Miranda arrives for the day."
"Oh yeah, sure." Alex replied. She studied the woman for a moment and could tell she was both angry and upset. But she could tell that the English woman wasn't in the mood to talk right now. "Well, maybe we can chat later then?"
Emily nodded. She said a silent thank you when the phone began ringing. Without another word to Alex she picked up the phone and put the thoughts to the back of her mind for a later time and got on with her work.
Alex sighed and turned around. She walked out of the building wondering if she had said the right words to Emily. She'd never been good with words.

Andy walked into the bedroom and smiled when she heard the shower running. She entered the bathroom, undressed, and stepped inside the steaming hot shower and embraced Miranda from behind. She kissed Miranda's shoulder. "I wasn't sure if you were going to be waiting for me in here or not."
Miranda chuckled and turned around in Andrea's arms so they could look at one another. "I can never resist you."
Andy's smile widened and she leaned forward and kissed Miranda. "We don't have to do anything you know we could just hold each other."
"Then where would the fun be in that?" Miranda asked before gently pushing Andy back against the glass wall.
Andy laughed but her face soon turned serious. "I want you to know that even if we didn't make love as often as we do that I would still love and adore you just as much. It's not just about the sex for me. It's so much more than that."
Miranda had been a little taken aback by Andrea's seriousness and she tilted her head to study Andrea's face. She saw genuine honesty and love on her wifes face. She nodded. "I know, my darling, but I love how you're always wanting to make love to me. To make me feel special and adored. It is one of the many reasons why I love you."
Andy smiled. "I just wanted you to know. That's all." she smirked at the choice of words she used for the end of the conversation.
Miranda chuckled and stared at the love of her life before she was pulled closer into Andrea's arms and kissed deeply.

January. 10 Weeks Later.
It was a new year. The middle of January already. It was only a few more months until the girls would graduate.
Life had gone back to normal for Andy. She'd talked to a professional which helped a lot. The nightmares had thankfully stopped after she began openening up more. She liked that things had gone back to there normal routine and she didn't have to think about everyone that had happened to her.
Miranda was still Miranda. She still worked hard everyday, putting everything she could into Runway to make it the best it could be. Even so she made sure she got home early more nights during the week to spend time with her family. The girls would be moving out soon enough and she wanted to be with them as much as she could before that happened. She had been glad when things had started looking up for her wife as she couldn't stand seeing Andrea upset.
Currently Miranda sat with her girls as they talked about their day and what they'd be doing. Andrea was out running with Alex and they would see each other later when Miranda arrived back from work. Seeing as Andrea had decided to take some leave from work to decide what she wanted to do they had much more time to spend together. They both enjoyed this.
Miranda soon left the girls to themselves to leave for work. Paris Fashion Week was quickly approaching in a few weeks time and work at Runway was going to be hectic until then. As she sat in the car she dialed the office and gave the new second assistant a list of things she wanted done before lunch.
When she turned her head to gaze out the window she smiled when her eyes caught sight of Andrea and Alex running along the side walk of the semi busy street. They were so caught up in their talking that they didn't notice the car driving past them.
When she arrived at Runway she had meetings straight away and she hoped that her love would have a better day than her.
They were a block away from the townhouse when Andy stopped abruptly.
Alex turned around and looked at Andy, her face going paler than usual. "You okay?"
Andy shook her head. She leaned forward and threw up on the side walk right in front of someones front path. She would have laughed if it had of been someone other than her. "It's happening again." Andy groaned.
"What do you mean?" Alex asked.
"I've been sick for a few days now." Andy replied as she began walked down the side walk again. "It started a little after we ate at the Pearl Oyster Bar."
"You think you ate something off?" Alex asked.
"Well that's all I can think it might be." Andy replied.
They were silent as they walked back to the townhouse.
Andy entered the house and felt another wave of nauseousness. "Oh god." she said and made her way quickly to the first floor bathroom.
Caroline watched Andy rush off. "What's wrong with her?" she asked.
"She's just got a bug." Alex replied.
"Alex!" Andy yelled from the bathroom wanting the other woman with her. She'd always hated how she'd always want someone around when shes sick. It made her feel weak.
"Tell her I hope she feels better." Caroline said. "See you later." and with that she left.
Alex made her way down to the bathroom where she saw Andy sitting on the tiled floor with her head resting against the wall. She looked very pale. "I hate this." Andy mumbled.
"Have you seen a doctor?" Alex asked.
Andy shook her head. "I've been hoping it'd just pass." she closed her eyes. "I don't think that'll be happening though. I think I'll have to go so they can give me something."
"You said you've been sick now for a few days?" Alex asked and continued when Andy nodded her head. "But you've been fine when we've been hanging out at night."
Andy nodded again. "That's what I don't get."
Alex was silent for a few minutes. "You've been sick in the mornings but feel fine of a night time, you've been eating more than usual and put on weight.." she trailed off.
Andy looked at Alex and knew what she was trying to say. "No way." she shook her head. "I can't be." she said as she rose from the floor and exited the room.
"Well, it all adds up." Alex replied following the brunette down the hall.
Alex soon left Andy so she could get ready for work and for the rest of the day Andy couldn't rid Alex's words from her mind.

Alex walked around her apartment aimlessly. She had the day off from work and she didn't know what to do with herself. It was times like these that she let her mind wander. She'd started to think of Emily Charlton a lot more these days. She wasn't sure if she was happy with this or not but she knew she liked the red head. There had been a few times the last couple of days where she'd wanted to pick up her phone and call the English woman but she always stopped herself before she did. She turned and her eyes caught sight of a wedding photograph with Sarah. She shook her head knowing that she couldn't be having these feelings for Emily. It still felt wrong, like she was cheating on Sarah.
She collapsed down onto the couch with a sigh. She wanted nothing more than to get out of her head for a while but she knew that alcohol wasn't the solution to that. She'd cut back on drinking about a month ago. It was a fresh new year and drinking was an old habit she didn't want to have anymore.
Alex picked up the remote for the tv and flicked around. They were showing episodes of "The Simpsons" and decided that she'd watch them.

That Night.
Miranda had stayed at the office longer than usual as it had been a hectic day. She was thankful to be arriving home. She kicked off her heels and made her way down the hall. Upon finding the first floor empty she went upstairs. She saw that her girls weren't home so she went back down to the second floor and into the master bedroom. "Andrea?" she said when she heard the room was empty.
She peeked inside the closet and saw it was empty. She walked over to the bathroom and stepped inside the room. She stopped when she saw Andrea sitting on the tiled floor, her head leaning back against the wall and her eyes closed. "Andrea, what's wrong?" Miranda asked as she quickly rushed to Andrea's side.
Andrea lifted her head and opened her eyes. She stared at Miranda blankly.
Miranda saw that her wifes cheeks were stained with tears. "What's wrong?" she asked again a little firmer this time. She was getting worried. She watched as Andy silently picked something up from next to her before holding it in front of Miranda.
Miranda's eyes widened in shock as she stared at the pregnancy test Andrea was holding. It was positive.
Andy dropped it back onto the ground next to the other three tests she'd purchased. She'd hoped that the first one she'd done had been wrong. They were all positive. She couldn't believe it.
"Andrea, I," Miranda found that she had no words for what she should say.
Andy looked again her, the blank expression on her face again. "I'm pregnant and I'm not going through with it. There's nothing else that needs to be said." and with that Andy left the room.
Miranda was left to stare at the empty spot in front of her before she shook her head and walked out of the room quickly. She needed to talk to Andrea.
