Quick and Dirty Halloween Comment Fic-a-Thon

In the spirit of chainofclovers, responsible for the kick-ass ficathon some months back, I want to try a REALLY Quick and Dirty Halloween-themed comment fic-a-thon over the next few days. I would love to see prompts that are creepy, or scary, or supernatural, or sexy, or all of the above, but it’s not a requirement. Creativity is my only request!

1.Miranda sluggishly pushes through the crowd, as if the party were a marshland, and her legs were sinking knee-deep into mud. She’s hot, and a thin layer of sweat has already gathered on her upper lip. People do not step out of her way; their chatter does not cease, and it's surreal, but oddly comforting. She moves unseen past kings and wizards, their muffled voices flying by like swarms of insects, and not one of her subjects, often so fearful of her presence, seems to be aware that she is here

The colours of her costume are almost painful, but Miranda doesn't have much time to scowl. As soon as she looks in Miranda's direction, Andrea freezes. They stand on opposite sides of the room, the busy crowd writhing between them like an unbridgeable wild river, and yet it seems as if Andrea is looking directly at her. Not the bulky, uncharacteristic costume, but her. It causes Miranda's heart to pound and drown out the already muted music. Sweat pearls at the back of her neck and rolls down her spine where it leaves wet tracks that cause chills despite the heat.

She knows it's me.

2.Andy stops, and she feels the Lycra of her cape settle against her back as her body stills. Miranda is standing in the corner of the room, but nobody else seems to notice the queen of fashion. A group of models, made-up as African wildlife, step around her, annoyed by the obstruction, and the general atmosphere of the room lacks the tightness that usually accompanies Miranda's presence. I loved the panda, a accomplishment in itself, Miranda as panda still being herself. Loved this one a lot!

Great fic! The first phrase that I loved was this: People do not step out of her way; their chatter does not cease, and it's surreal, but oddly comforting. It says a lot, right there, about Miranda and what the situation is like. I mean…

Irv is soooo unpleasant! Even more than what he normally is, of course. And I love that Serena is Nefertiti, very appropriate. Emily as Cleopatra makes me giggle. ;)

Aw, and then she actually feels sad…

I love that Andy recognizes her immediately. :D

Andy is struck by the surrealism of staring at this talking panda head and feeling such overwhelming affection for the woman behind it. *lol* Yes, I can feel it, too, while reading…

Good ending, too! The fact that Miranda knows that Andy likes pandas wraps this up so nicely. <3

Another brilliantly woven story. My favorites: "vertically challenged", sums up her loathing of Mr. Ravitz and "Miranda panda", the thought of a cuddly Miranda, well....

Lovely and amusing. Miranda as a panda was inspired btw. Am I the only one who'd love a followup where we get to see the 'talk' Miranda would like to have?
