LOL, I'm going down my friends list at this point posting like a million comments, since this has spread so fast - I refresh and more pop up. LJ has backed off (or clarified?) and now says that they're only purging inactive communities with one or fewer posts.

This is still problematic, of course, if they go through with deleting comments made in other communities by those inactive accounts, but should spare the majority of the content.

nods. but with some of the memorial journals I don;t want to take chances. plus they have problems remembering what they said this morning, let alone last month.

Oh, there are definitely problems left - such as removing any comments in other journals made by the purged accounts. Just passing along the info since my friends list has been going nuts and the change is easy to miss.

I honestly don't think that you have to worry about the memorial accounts right now, though. They've said several times in those posts that they are excluded from the purge, and those are most of the comments that they've actually bothered replying to so far. Seems pretty safe (for today).
