I grew up on the Twilight Zone, Outer Limits (the originals) Night Gallery and those fantastic sci-fi and horror B-movies of the late 50s and 60s. I've always been of fan of anything unusual or macabre, whether it be movies, books, anything, so when I first read this story, I can't say that I really expected to be blown away, but I was.   It ( Read more... )

Recently learning of how the author feels about the name 'Meredith,' I grinned at bit at this.

I love this story too.

If I ever meet David Hewlett and he wants to know what fanfiction is, I'll probably start him out on this one.

That's an excellent thought, because this story kind of encompasses everything that's so great about McShep (IMO)! I always love to get McShep from an unlikely source or another POV, too, and this was just as near perfect as you can get!

Thank you. I was one of the betas for the story and I was so hooked right from the beginning. The author doesn't normally like first person accounts and I was just amazed at how she used something she wasn't comfortable with to give such a wonderful outside-in look at John and Rodney's relationship. I love when that happens.
