While admittedly hair holds a lot within a person's confidence and can play harshly with one's insecurities, shaving your head won't make you look any less good, be any less desirable, nor make you and less you :)
I'd still think you were hot, either way, if it helps any.
And I find that when a guy shaves his head, it shows that he's more willing to accept himself and grow and move forward than letting it sprout in odd places in an almost personification of denial of the inevitable.
You're still awesome, whichever path you choose with yourself.
You could start with a #3 or #4 razor buzz and see if you like it that way. It's less drastic.
If you shave it off and decide to do something different, it will grow back, at least where it was growing in the first place. Every few years something happens where I don't shave for a few weeks and I get to see how much more of my hair is gray. A bunch more is gray (I don't shave because of the gray, I'm great with gray, it's the unattractive pattern baldness).
As for exercise, the last two weeks have thrown me off my routine. I just got back in to the gym today for a session with my trainer, and while I'm not bad I've definitely slid.
Yeah, it's a shock to the identity at first, but you get used to it really quickly. And you'll find that not having to take the time to do more than a quick towel-wipe is a real convenience.
Rogaine is expensive, and didn't work for me. Propecia is more expensive, DID work for me, but had other unfortunate side effects.
