It has been almost two months since I had the energy/time/focus/will/interest to try to update y'all about what's been happening with me, Billy and Gypsy.

We are all doing well enough, Gypsy is settling into retirement and Billy continues to amaze me with his awesomeness.

I never, ever bring my dogs to any place that has animals that are caged. I think it's unfair for them and me because, like you said, it's so stressful on both dogs and other caged animals. I also never take them to a beauty parlor because of the hair cuttings and the horrible smell of some of the chemicals they use in there. Loud concerts and bowling alleys are out of the question. The ball rumbling down toward the pins sounds too much like very loud thunder to make me feel comfortable with them being there. I'm also reluctant to take them to the movies, but I don't feel like I'm missing much there, since I don't like to pay the ridiculously high prices for tickets only to hear kids screaming or people's mobile phones ringing and the loudness. I guess that makes me a bit of a restrictive guide dog user, but hopefully when I do get to get my new baby the school can help me get passed some of that soon.

I can't go anywhere without my service dog or some serious medications that just ruins the whole experience for me anyway. On rare occasions I have managed with the help of my boyfriend. He doesn't like doing that for me simply because he looses out on the opportunity to enjoy himself because he is so focused on my needs. I HATE being that needy and having to rely on another human for help. It's easier with the dogs because they really don't seem to mind doing the work ( ... )
