It's 2011 in Battery City. Frank and Ray and Gerard-and-Mikey have never met, except for Gerard-and-Mikey, because they're brothers. The great fires of 2012 haven't happened yet. BL/ind doesn't exist yet. There are no Dracs and no Scarecrows. Art is a hobby or a lifestyle, not a weapon

Frank probably is woefully unemployed (the neck tat having totally ruined any chances of him getting a job AS PLANNED~), probably lives at home, but probably doesn't really mind. Free place to live, mom cooks him dinner, etc.
Gerard and Mikey probably work shit jobs, that are going exactly nowhere. They probably live together in not the greatest part of town (cuz it's cheap--more money for comic books and liqour!) and are just waiting for something better to happen. I'm going to say Gerard probably works somewhere that requires him to be cheerful, and he hates it, and Mikey still works at the bookstore. Or something.
I don't know about Grace. She's probably still a fetus.

I imagine they'd be late 20s/early 30s in 2019. So in 2011, they'd still be in college or something. I like to think Gerard still went to art school, but had to take a corporate type of job. Maybe Mikey works in a bookstore or something. IDK, actually. I have ideas for what they'd be doing around 2015-ish, but not much for what's going on with them, oh, about now. XP

My guilty pleasure is military-based scifi, with asskicking and explosions and shooting and shit like that. I think one reason the dust-verse has me so excited is that I can have that, with hot guys and without resorting to awful books like John Ringo's Kildar series (ugh, so BAD and misogynistic and even the author knows it but I could not stop reading, /o\) Plus the delicious slash and joyful color of it, and it's just so FUN in a way I've never exprienced before, perhaps because all we get is little bits of canon, and those can interpreted however we want!
