giving thanks

So we're hosting a (small) Thanksgiving at our place this year. Probably only going to do Canadian Thanksgiving this year as we won't be able to travel to my family this season. So it's time to think menu.

We're only having over my SIL and her boyfriend, and they are bringing wine and a pie.

Menu:
fruit, cheese and crackers for noshing

I do whole chickens in the crock pot frequently and they are SO good. Last time I pulled one out, I gave my husband the carving knife and he looked at me, rolled his eyes and took a fork out of the drawer. That's all he needed to carve it. :) Gordon is right though, the skin won't get crispy but a few minutes under the broiler is all you need.
