The Husband had this past week off and went back to work on Tuesday. We used the time off to work on converting the current spare room (or let's be honest, the "shove everything into this room and never speak of it" room) into Pippa's eventual bedroom

hmm, interesting. I wish my midwives had explained this to me a little better (how long to expect labor to last, differences with the second baby, etc.). They were intentionally very non-committal in everything they told me, which I feel is a recurring problem with healthcare people. I was in early labor (contractions, but they didn't really hurt) with Sly for 5 hours, and active labor (painful contractions) for another 8. With Stella I went straight into active, and it was about 7 hours.
