Baby names that are towards the top of my list, in rough order of how they appeal to me currently:

BOYS:
Tobit/Tobias - nn: Toby. I favor Tobias (the traditional English transliteration, and the more common name), Gordon favors Tobit (the current English transliteration). We both like the book of the Bible and the two characters of that name ( Read more... )

We are starting to think of names too... Xavier made it onto our current top 5, I had Genevieve on my list, but G had a horrible first grade teacher of that name... So I had to scratch that off! Playing the naming game is fun, I'll have to post my thoughts soon...

Yeah, we definitely fit that trend...looking for "real" traditional names, but ones that you don't come across often these days.

Glad I'm not the only Scholastica lover around. I was going to use her as my confirmation name but my father thought it was too weird and told me not to. I still include her in my mind as a personal patron since I'm sure she would have listened to her dad too and sometimes when I'm writing out my full name as well.
