Ky Kiske is a good guy. There isn't much else driving him other than the desire to do good for others and to do what is right. He wants to keep the peace that they now have, after the war. After all that turmoil humanity went through, he wants to keep it from happening again. Ky is the type of person who is willing to go out and help settle conflicts that arise. He believes in what is fair and just. He also believes that a person with the ability to do great things should use their abilities for good, not for harming others. This is something he's struggled to understand, and it makes him intolerant of criminals and the like. His view of the world is almost completely black and white, with very little 'shades of grey'. Good people will do good. Bad people will do bad. There is no such thing as good people committing crimes.
So he thought. It has been a recent development, but he has slowly been relaxing this point of view. Ky met people who stole for the sake of the disadvantaged. He met wanted 'criminals' and learned they meant no harm. He met someone who would have been considered and enemy during the war... and realized she didn't want to cause any trouble. Slowly, but surely, his definition of justice is in the process of changing. There is still a lot for him to learn, however. Ky is still naïve about the truth a lot of the time.
Unfortunately, he is also quite hardheaded about his beliefs. He was somewhat of an antagonistic character in the beginning of the series, stubbornly blocking other people's way because they were deemed criminals or he thought they were in the wrong. No matter who told him that he was being used, he wouldn't believe it until he started to see the evidence in front of his own eyes. (And even then it took a while.) And if you stole something Very Important? He will hold a grudge against you for years. And try to fight you every time you meet. Every. Time.
Another important aspect is his faith. He is religious and his religious principles influence him quite a bit. (Do good for others, respect your fellow man, etc.) Before fights, he signs the cross. During the war, he relied on God for strength and support. (This was more prominent in the earlier games and the CD drama, but lessened as the series went on.) Even post war, he relies on his faith to bring him to the truth. However, despite his religion, he is most definitely not a pacifist and is willing to use force to drive his point across. Fighting for peace, in other words. For ease of playing, we can just assume he's a French Catholic with a hint of Protestant because he tends to come across as a little bit of both.
Overall, he's not that unusual (compared to other Guilty Gear characters). He's polite and chivalrous by nature. He's hardworking and dedicated, but sometimes wishes he has copies of himself when he's loaded down with too many things. Don't we all? When someone is aggressively flirting with him he's flustered and embarrassed. He can be rendered speechless when he's surprised or feeling awkward. If someone is upset, he does his best to support and comfort them. If he finds a person acting erratically and speaking nonsense, he immediately assumes they are under the influence of some bad drugs rather than being under the possession of a ghost. He has hobbies -- collecting teacups, which is clearly the manliest hobby in the world -- and enjoys smiling faces, reading books, sunshine, and other typical 'good guy' things.

Swordsmanship
Ky is skilled with a sword. He uses it for good close-mid range damage. He's able to do (simple) flips and knock opponents into the air with it, and he basically relies on it for fighting.
Hand-to-hand
He's actually not very good with this. He only knows some basic punches, kicks, and throws to use as close range attacks. Mostly for support or combos.
Lightning magic
This is his specialty! In the Guilty Gear world, lightning is one of the hardest elements to use. Ky is surprisingly proficient with controlling it, able to throw out projectiles of all sizes or surround himself into a ball of lightning. He has a special sword that also adds a spark to his slashes. Although it also produces lightning, it isn't the source of his ability to use lightning magic (Drama CD, GG2).
Tactician/Charismatic
Or so he has been described. Ky can play politics and lead an army to victory, pretty much.
