My dad always told me: Never throw the first punch. But if somebody hits you, you hit them back. I knew when he said it that he didn't just mean physical hitting. Papa taught me to stand up for myself.
Right? That's where half of my snark comes from...well, two places really. My parents have always had witty comebacks for things, and being bullied...you HAVE to have that bite back.
But if you do it now, you could end up being the one in trouble, even if it's not physical. You could be labeled a bully yourself if one person hears only what you say and nothing that the other person said. I miss the days of schoolyard fights, where a couple kids fought it out, got detention or a day out of school, and it was over. We REEK of hormones you get to ages 10 and up and sometimes you just gotta get it out damnit!
Yay comrade! I'm just hoping that our generation gets a bit back to basics with regards to raising kids. Too many parents of "tweens" want to be their kids' buddies instead of frickin parents. They're all worried about their precious little unique bundles getting scarred and it's like...WTF? Life sucks, might as well get their skin thickened up! lol
