1) It's so bloody homophobic! What, it's OK to have gay characters as long as their relationships are not given the same attention as heterosexual ones? 2) Hanh/Callie relationship is one of the best, most interesting, parts of the current season. 3) Hanh kicks ass! Plus, there was a really wonderful and adorable monologue she had in the last episode where she realized she's a lesbian and compares the whole thing to when she got her glasses for the first time and finally say everything clearly. It was gorgeous.
I can't say Hahn was my favorite character, but this really upset me. I think it's the way it was so sudden, and she was just suddenly told she was out that bugs me so much. It just comes across as homophobic and cruel. I hate that Shondra says it's not about her being a lesbian character - that clearly that's not the issue because they have another one, Callie. I thought last week established that Callie is not a lesbian, and I fully expect her to go back to boys only next week. I think her and Mark are insanely hot, but still...
The hell it's not about her being a lesbian character! The left the bi girl, who still likes guys. They are rewriting Melissa George's character so she's not bi anymore. There's no way in hell I'll believe this isn't about Hanh being gay. Apparently lesbians are not good enough for their TV shows. Fuck that!
About Callie and Mark. I actually like them more as friends. Mainly because Mark needs someone to like him for who he is. When she asked him out for a drink and told him he's good for more than sex, and he got that "really?" look on his face it was adorable. That's another character on the show they turned into a stereotype, and don't know what to do with. And he's awesome.
