What a night!

Violent thunderstorms went through the area last night. Apparently the worst of it was to the north and west of us, but even where I am, the thunder crashes were loud enough to scare me. Does it seem to you that we're having more (and more severe) storms this year?

We had a good bit of it last night, though milder...

We certainly have been getting some severe storms. It's tempting to think they are worse than in previous years, but I'm not sure. I remember some pretty intense thunderstorms when I lived in Dayton a decade ago.

I slept right through the storms that occurred after 11pm, and the tornado sirens that I'm now told went off. It's not like I had anywhere to go living in a third-floor apartment, so it's just as well.

I've heard someone else say they slept through the sirens. And apparently some malfunctioned and didn't go off.

For me, the thunder was bad enough. I screamed like a little girl!

Does it seem like the weather is more severe this year? I am glad the pump is working again. A weather alert radio sounds a good idea to me.

It's tempting to think the weather is worse than in previous years, but I'm not sure. I remember some pretty intense thunderstorms from over a decade ago.
