Piroformis troubles

I have noticed a bit of tingling on the ball of my right foot the past couple of mornings, which my research indicates is potentially related to nerve compression at the L5 nerve root in my lumbar spine. Gee, I admire (envy) your understanding of your own body that enables you to relate a tingle in the ball of your right foot to a point on your spine and then recall possible events that precipitated it. Then, being able to explore for muscles to massage and stretch to relieve it is an awareness I wish were a part of our everyday culture now. Some day is is bound to be. I learned from the links you provided and it struck me that I never could have found them from wondering about a tingle in my foot. If you ever come across a site that leads from bodily sensations to further understanding, please share. I wish Google would put their algorithm skills to use developing such an awareness

Dermatome is the term for an area of skin that is ennervated by nerves that come from a single spinal root.
