Questions (about Psychedelic Dreams) ...

Hello! I'm Iris. Since I'm a newbie around here, so please don't be too harsh on me. Sorry if I make any silly mistakes...

I have a few questions that I need somebody to help me to make it clear. Please give me a hand if you had time!

1/ First of all, there are some characters called Psychedelic Dreams, these resembles Shizuo & Izaya in one way or

Psychedelic Dreams refers to Psyche and Delic (psychedelic). These alternate versions of Izaya and Shizuo are from the covers of the soundtracks. Hibiya and Tsugaru are the alternates from their character song albums. Hibiya and Delic are paired, and Psyche and Tsugaru are paired. The other alternates are Hachimenroppi, or just Roppi, and Tsukishima, or Tsuki. They're from the covers of two of the drama CDs. There's also Manya, and that's the manga version of Izaya.
All of the other characters have alternates too, but Izaya and Shizuo have the most.

First thing first: Thank you so much for sharing these info! These'r really useful. As I've searched on net, I found out:

- The name Hibiya comes from the song Subarashii Hibi (in Cover Song Character Vol.7: Izaya Orihara)
- Also, Tsugaru's from Tsugarukaikyou / Fuyugeshiki (Durarara!! Cover Song Collection Vol.2: Shizuo Heiwajima)

However, I can't find the images of Roppi & Tsuki from the covers of Drama CDs. All I could find is only a pic of Izaya in Durarara!! Drama CD 1: Range and Versatility

Talking about Manga version, this's the first time somebody have ever mentioned the word Manya. Is it the combination of MANga + IzaYA? Interesting!

I was just skipping through the comm and your post! It looks like your question was answered quite a while ago (I really don't have anything to add on, either) but I have a question:
"Both Izaya in Anime/Manga, however, are changed a lot from the original, Izaya in Novel. That's a pity! T-T I wonder why people can just keep the original Izaya? I'd much prefer the original HIM..." I am a little confused by your expression "original him", what do you mean? What details about the animated and manga version do you feel should have been changed specifically to stay closer to the novels? Or shouldn't they have been created at all

Depends. You choose how to see them. I perceive them as Shizuo and Izaya with different clothes. is killed by fans of the au Izaya and Shizuo Not that i don't like them or anything. I just prefer the originals. Don't brick me girls it is just a personal preference. *piece signs*

Yeh, as far as I've known, Izaya in Anime/Manga are changed a lot from the original, Izaya in Novel.
I, myself, too, would much prefer the original him...

Still, I think these Psychedelic versions are amazing. I mean, they may be not as good as their original ones, but they'r great in their own ways. Isn't it interesting?

There's Shitsuo and Sakuraya aswell.
Shitsuo is the Shizuo in the butler costume, I /think/ he's from some bag art from a crossover event between the character designers of Durarara and Kuroshitsuji. Shizuo is in Sebastiens costume and Sebastiens is in shizuos.
Sakuraya is the Izaya in the pink version of Tsugaru's costume. He's from the shooting star art book

Kuroshisuji? Isn't it the amazing Anime with the best main male character ever named Sebastians Michaelis, voiced by Ono Daisuke (seiyuu of Shizuo)?
Now, I understand why there's a butler version of Shizuo. All thanks to you! Thank you.

Hmm~ Searching for Sakuraya on net, I've learned that Hibiya & Sakuraya are usually described as best friends, 'coz they'r both from the loyal family. Now, come to think of it, I wonder why not let Shitsuo & Hibiya a couple? I mean, a butler & a prince, aren't they supposed to be a perfect couple?
Just ask because of curiousness...

Anyway, couple Shitsuo x Sakuraya is not bad after all. Instead, together they make a cute lovely-doley couple! I think I'm starting to like them...

What has been said above and it's mostly like, even though characters are often drawn in other outfits on different soundtrack/drama cd covers, this time fans seem to have taken them and made them their own characters "life of its own" sort of thing XD.

Hmm~ Now I'm starting to wonder who's the 1st person ever coming up with creating lives for these Psychedelic Dreams. I mean, that person must be really amazing to do such wonderful masterpiece!

There are also the virus editions, but I don't know too much about them, myself. Lots and lots of versions of Izaya and Shizuo!
