God may be 'an awesome God' ... (Principles of religious education and public prayer)

I respect my Christian friends on this one.

Indeed he is an awesome God ... but is he a communicating God?

The English curriculum of a Christian school would indeed teach such.

How does God communicate?

How do you understand Him?

And what exactly is Jesus's stance on public prayers?

They killed a *lot* of kids, probably of many religions and atheism as well -- and they did it largely because the mainstream kids had been severely bullying them for years. I think that singling out the mainstream folks as automatically being good/honest/brave/whatever is the exact kind of mistake that implies non-mainstream ones *aren't* just as likely (or more so) to have those qualities, and reinforces/justifies the harassment (often from those so-called "good" kids in my experience) that leads to such tragedies.

Dear Moggy:

Thank you for opening my mind to what had obviously been a blind spot.

I am sure I would not have intended to say what I did in fact say. I take responsibility for my words.

I think some of the mainstream kids went through hardships to choose what they did choose.

And so did the non-mainstream kids.

I should have said that everyone was good and brave for their own reasons that we may or may not understand.

I said Rachel was good and brave because she was Rachel not because she was mainstream or non-mainstream. And that is what I do believe, largely.

Have been reading about the Falun Gong. That is one big can of worms!
