I could tell you all about this year's South Side Irish Parade. Gorgeous weather, mostly friendly crowd, good food, the hot firemen from New York and the hot Boston coppers, but really, the important thing is that my godson learned a new spell:

Oooh! I only understood part of that! My geek must be wearing off. Do you think it needs a modification to summon a Southern Belle of a redhead? Or is my godson just special?

Chicago imports cops all the way from Boston? I suppose that makes sense, Boston is the most hardcore place about Irish stuff.

Boston is indeed, full of Irish love. I know that after 2001, a lot of New York Cops and Firefighters went all over the country for different parades, we had what looked like a whole brigade here once. Now they'll send a handful of representatives from all over the country and they all march together in their dress uniforms. It's very cool.
