What: Duo tries to surprise Kaname, things get totally out of hand.
When: Shortly before the Independence 1 is unleashed.
Where: Kaname's apartment

Sousuke was, as usual, maintaining steady surveilance on Kaname's apartment. You know, for protection purposes. As it happened, his surveilance net caught an intruder breaking into her apartment, no doubt to lie in wait and assassinate or kidnap her.

Immediate action was necessary.

Sousuke, masked for stealth and armed with his combat knife, rapelled down the side of the apartment complex, landing silently on the deck. Keeping low and sliding the door open as quietly as he could, Sousuke entered Kaname's apartment to engage the intruder.

Unfortunately (Or fortunately, depending on your point of view.) Sousuke could not opn the door quietly enough. Duo spun around to see a maksed intruder entering the apartment.

Duo knew that Kaname was a high priority target for kidnapping, for some reason. With this in mind, there was really only one logical conclusion: this was a kidnapping attempt. Duo reached over to the counter next to where he was standing to grabb a kitchen knife and entered a fighting stance. "This isn't gonna be as easy as you thought it would!"

Sousuke didn't have time to recognize his opponent -- he was operating on pure military instinct. He lunged instantly for Duo, attempting to disarm him before he finished his ultimatum.

Duo leaned backwards to avoid Sousuke's attack and made a grab for the wrist of his knife arm, prepared to fall backwards and launch him over head into the wall.
