Hmm.

I came across a flickr thread today where everyone was discussing the type two body... someone had bought a Paja, and were saying saying how type 3s were way better, and how they were going to obitsu her most probably because they couldn't bond due to her type 2 body. This got a flutter of agreement. Someone suggested they do a trade with someone ( Read more... )

totally agreed! heck, I even prefer type one over type three. if only for the range in hand/foot movement.

But it's completely true, I never thought about what it would be like when I was part of the 'older' pullip generation, but it's totally weird. I started collecting at the end of 2005, and remember peoples attitudes when the type 3 had JUST come out... it was a negative change, then. It's just that so many other attitudes have changed, too. Pullips were never so 'fragile' as people perceive them to be now, and I don't think customizing was so such a big deal either. But hey, time goes on, I guess :/

It's funny isn't it? Eternia was my first type 3 and when I saw it, I was the one having issues bonding and stuff. And now it's the opposite. x3 I also prefer t1 to t3. I prefer anything to t3. x3 I think that's why it's so surprising to me that the attitude is so different.

You're right, customizing wasn't as big a deal. Now it's like even re-wigging is viewed as a big thing to do.

Yeah, time goes on, eventually the type 4 will be the norm... and people will go backwards to the t3 and go 'wtf this body is weird'. Haha.

I like the Type 4 body more than the Type 3 body. Then again, I don't like the T3 body at all. Nope nope nope lol. I like the Type 2 because of the removable feet and hands. Since that's how I first saw Pullips when I got into them, that's how a Pullip "Looks" to me.. like an adult. The T3 body makes the Pullip look really childish to me, especially for the exclusive Pullip dolls that are supposed to resemble an older character @.@

Yup that pretty much sums up exactly how I feel about it too. x3 Except more concisely and less rambly. Haha.

I agree. They definitely look childish. That works on say, Latte and Nina and Rovam, but not on um, Rida, Holly or Pru.

I think the new Audrey Hepburn dolls will look a lot more elegant on the new body, and I think the t4 actually suits some girls when someone wants a svelte swanlike look. But it's still not as good as a t2 though.

I think the T3 look good on the Rozen Maiden line. Actually, the T4 I got, I wanted to put on my Souseiseki, but I guess T4 heads are made different now. The neck area seems thicker, and it didn't fit ;_; (Well, I could have carved into my Sou's head, but I didn't want to do that...)

I've never actually had a type 1 or a type 4... but type 3 was my first Pullip and I was amazed how much better the type 2 body was when I got one. Then again I generally prefer floppy over stiff because floppy seems more expressive (even if it can't hold poses quite as well).

I haven't had a type 4 in person but the body looks kind of odd to me, definitely too slim for me!
