Well, one could argue that it is protecting your right to receive things like news coverage, your access to a free press. Of course, my own thinking is that it isn't *you* it's protecting. It's big business. And all of the advertisers who would no longer be able to reach you through that oh-so-perfect medium.

How's that for cynical?
