Swallow the snake in hopes it has a sword inside. You can spit up the snake, it'll spit up the sword, and you can stab uber-bitches in the chest!
Or, you can do the nice thing and let it just sun itself until it wants to move on its own. It's probably just a garden snake anyway. Helpful to control pests.

Oh I couldn't harm the dear snake. We get the common Black snakes around here all the time, I just didn't want to let the ol' dog out for fear of her sniffing it out and messing with it. I hope hes gone by the time she needs her next bathroom break. ;P *snuggles you*

I think if you make really loud vibrations on the ground it'll scare snakes away. I'm saying this because I got so ecstatic when I saw a snake once, but it fled in terror at my feet stomping. :(
