Sometimes people press the buttons multiple times like they would at home and they are trying to do stuff on the lunch/break. I have pressed 3000 and gotten 30minute timer when I meant 300 for three minutes. It was a high yield carbon emitting event to say the least. Everything was black rock on the bottom of a cracked corningware bowl that was oven safe. The lid of the bowl was in that rock along with noodles ... Warcraft and cooking don't mix.

Though most microwaves I see for use at public places have the canned 'popcorn', 'sandwhich', 'reheat', settings that most people use. I could see someone pressing 10min twice thinking it was 1min on a really badly designed microwave.

Its a law library, they are future lawyers -- our future overlords -- they don't care about rules.
