Workin' on those cards for y'all. :D
I'm almost done reading this book about the history of fairy tales that I got from the library. It rocks. Did you know the original prince in Sleeping Beauty was already married when he found her? And that he got her knocked up while she was, uh, asleep?
My favorite fairy tale used to always be The Twelve Dancing ( Read more... )

I didn't know much about Cupid and Psyche before reading this book--it's the forerunner of Beauty and the Beast type tales! (And I love it too.) I also love Little Red. And Hansel and Gretel (worst nightmare fuel--I think about it every single time I put something into an oven).

She sure did, to TWINS, and she woke up when one of them was trying to nurse and ended up sucking the splinter out of her finger. I'd say the "something kind of nightmare fuel about that" was the fact that she was RAPED.

I always wanted to see The Twelve Dancing Princesses made into a feature-length animated film. There IS a lot going on, the plot wouldn't need to be padded out much and it has so much eye candy potential.

Those illustrations are awesome!
I really really wanna read this story with the girl dancing with the jester, now. Please let me know if you find out what it was! Have you ever read The Hero and the Crown?

And I have one more question because it's been driving me nuts: Who/what on earth are the characters in your icon. I keep seeing those things EVERYWHERE and never with an explanation of what they're from.
