OOH, you've discovered the horrors of Twilight! My mother is always criticizing me for thinking I'm "above" the books and that they're not "good enough" or "literary enough" for me. That's not it at all, since I love loads of non-literary books. It's just that even the people who love it that I talk to have admitted the writing style is mediocre, it's about a girl who more or less falls for a vampire because he's like teh hottest guy evr!, the vampires sparkle, and the ungodly mess that is the last book in the series. The latter of which is quite possibly the most horrific sounding thing ever, and if there was any chance I'd read them BEFORE finding out about character falling instantly in love with a monster fetus that induces fountains of vomited blood and broken ribs and highly gruesome birth scenes, then it's certainly gone now. Even my sister has heard about it and admitted that the author had to be on some kind of crack. Though, PSH, the author should be an inspiration to all of us! It seems you don't necessarily have to ( ... )

Man, yeah, Beth told me about the ending while she was here and showed me some awesome parody comics and then I just had to find out more about it. It's like the universe is playing some kind of practical joke to get me to believe something like this book could actually be published and received so well. HOW. WHY. I thought that the vampires "sparkling" was a joke until I read a passage IN WHICH EDWARD SPARKLES.

Not to be that guy but... okay I'm that guy.

On the plus side it makes me more confident in Rabbit's Foot!

I've seen a couple of wonderful parody comics. There's one in particular that ruined it all completely for me before I ever even knew what it was, because now all I can think of when I envision "Eeeedwaaaard" is him and Bella frolicking and sparkling in front of rainbows and pink shinies with his face like this |:

THE SPARKLING IS NOT A JOKE, though you'd think it would be if you didn't know better.

So, all in all, terrible writing, but a great confidence booster!

This was super awesome and the only thing stopping me from taking on a million more is that I have to kill my old icons to use new ones! D8 D8 D8
