Rollie was promised beer and there is, in fact, beer waiting for him when he sets himself up in the Hub and braces himself for this little get-together. He likes Lucius, considers him one of his few real friends on the island, but he has a feeling this is still going to be a very long day. Vorenus crossed the threshold of the Hub at a determined pace, equally determined not to show any of the nerves making a mess of his insides. The result was that he looked angry rather than eager to learn, though the latter was far closer to the truth.

He did not look behind him for Pullo, trusting the other man to leave the women outside of the Compound long enough to attend his lessons, lessons which Vorenus had taken great pains to impress the importance of on his friend. Spying Rollie already seated at a table, Vorenus ground his mighty pace to a halt and stood at attention.

Pullo came up behind Lucius, so distracted he almost ran right into his friend when he stopped short. He glanced from Lucius to Rollie and back again, confusion plain on his face.

"What's all this, then? I thought we were learning about women, not fighting."

Rollie looks up at them and feels his lips twitch. Just a little. "First lesson," he says, gesturing at them with his glass. "Sit down and relax."

He's not joking either. There's a time and a place for formality, but this definitely isn't it.

Vorenus took his chair obediently, though if he was attempting to relax, it didn't much show in the set of his shoulders.

"Sit," he barked at Pullo, as if the other man might have missed the instruction.
