2008 has been a year for reading murder mysteries. I wonder why but that's how it has been.

I read mysteries coming from the icy north of Europe, like Arnaldur Indridason's Jar city, The voice, I turned once more to Henning Mankell for his brilliant depiction of Swedish society as seen from Ystad, and like everybody else (well that's from seeing ( Read more... )

I've found the the Dana Stabenow murder mysteries are pretty good.
I'm glad we listened to them, they make our wisconsin winters
seem balmy... I like the talking books because the person reading knew
what the eskimo words should sound like.

I did actually read the first 3 as a book in hand
and it did not distract from the story.

They grip your imagination and its a fast read.

Good to see you again I've wondered how the new
place is getting on, must be ok for reading.
Hopefully there is less drama? tilt of the head.
finding nice mellow roomies can be difficult.

Happy sunday.

I went looking at it not only does she have her stories show cased,
she lists other books that stop her from writing...

I've met her in Madison Wisconsin at a book signing/reading
and I like her, I hope she never actually ends up in a mystery.

I read one of hers in 2004: Hunter's moon
It was a pretty good read and I remember liking the outdoors atmosphere and all that snow.
I'll check others out!
