I just watched the pilot episode of the X-Files spin-off The Lone Gunmen which aired in March 2001. It was about a government plot to fly a fully fueled passenger airplane into the World Trade Center to recreate the Cold War, and increase arms sales worldwide. March 2001. I couldn't believe it. I don't think ti was an official gag order. It's easier to just cancel the show. Which is what they did. Great shows are cancelled all the time, so there's no real questions asked.

Not quite as freaky as the Dream Theater album that came out on September 11th, 2001. It showed the Twin Towers on fire, with a big apple surrounding them. Needless to say, minutes after 9am, most of the copies of the album were taken off of the bins and sent back for alternative art.

A copy still turns up on Ebay every now and then, going for a shload of money.
