About Isaac? I'm still too 'waaah!' to articulate any coherent views on the intricacies of the story I think. I have a couple of wild speculations about Isaac, but nothing that would be particularly Earth(Gaea?)-shattering if it were true.
I'd like to hear them. Because there's one specific thing that I caught right away the first time I watched it that seems to either go right over people's heads or that they don't get until, I think the penultimate episode. Let's say it's something I cottoned onto in the episode where they flashback to Isaac's past

Flashback to Isaac's past? *scrabbles through DVDs* I was kind of spaced when I watched the Mystic Valley episodes, sad to say; my previous immunity to jetlag really failed me this time.
Going solely on the thumping great hint in the classroom scene, however (who teaches high school kids the apple story, though?), I had wondered if this Isaac was supposed to be a certain famous Isaac...
Heheh. Yeah, I would say the producers of this show weren't above fucking with the audience, and that's without the end credits you mention. The version on the DVDs just has one shot of Van with a really badly misjudged song playing over it.
In general, I love the show. It became one of my favourite shows the first time Escaflowne transformed, but besides the giant robot that turns into a dragon, the show puts together all its disparate elements perfectly. It's one of the very few anime I've seen that doesn't seem to put a foot wrong (until the end *shakes fist*), and that I've not once faltered in my devotion to. I think in lesser hands it could
