It totally is. I mean, the manipulation of desire to sell shit is, I would say, a sizable foundation for the creation of the Dollhouse; where (among other things of course) the comodifaction of bodies and minds for elaborate fantasies that in the end, exist to fund Rossum are both a product of and the next step of the beginning of big advertisement that mad men highlights.

AKA I may or may not be penning and mad men/dollhouse crossover in my head.
