RAWR!

Aug 20, 2015 09:31

Three long work days in a row and I finally gave up around 10pm last night because my brain was fried. Luckily I was already at home, but I had run around like crazy at work then went to Target* once I was home, ate dinner super late, and then had to do a ton of work writing. Writing for work is always way more exhausting than ficly fun ( Read more... )

Hey Wisconsin! That's where I live! Where abouts is the cabin? Depending on where, I may be able to give you some insider tips. Although I'm sure your friends know too.

Also, sometime soonish (not too soon because I'm ridiculously busy getting ready for school, and I know you've been busy with work...maybe, like, in a week or two?) we should take some time to catch up!

Ack! I meant to contact you ... We're going to DOOR COUNTY! At first it didn't dawn on me, until I was looking up weather and saw Sturgeon Bay. Then was like OMG KATIE!

I'm not sure WHERE in Door County it is, though.

When you get there you should let me know where you're staying (at least, what the closest village is)! And are you on Lake Michigan, or Green Bay, or Kangaroo Lake or some other place? Yeah. I get a little overexcited.

I can give you probably more tips than you want. I don't know how much you and your friends will be doing, but I can give food recommendations, activity things and places, and other spots I think are pretty rad. But it sounds like your friends own this house, so they may have their spots and things already.

Also, cell reception depends on your carrier. I have Verizon and that works fine to great throughout the county. Other carriers, not as well I've heard. Especially if you're in the middle of the country some where (like Kangaroo Lake). If you can get cell reception, feel free to text or call me if you have questions.

SO I obviously never got back to you, mostly because we had no cell or wifi reception. The friend said his place is in unincorporated Little Harbor. It seemed pretty far up the peninsula, and we were on the rocky side, which if I remember correctly was the western side?

ANYWAY! We stayed at the lake house all weekend except for snacks and beer runs. It was so peaceful and beautiful; the property is literally on the water. I can't wait to go again! :D

It was a fantastic break! And just about how long as it needed to be because I was happy to be home but not dying to leave the place. ♥

I just finished with a mountain stay, sans cell service (though we did have wifi at the cabin.) It was WONDERFUL. I think you'll be surprised how quickly you'll unhook. And then hopefully, you'll come back refreshed, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed!

Take a sketch book, ay?

(edited for spelling blunders. woo.)

It was wonderful! I took my iPad and read fic in downtimes, but that was really only at night when trying to go to sleep or first thing in the morning. We just hung out and drank, played some games, chilled in the wonderful weather, etc. It was also great fun that I met some new folks who were great to be around.

I just realized you're in Illinois. I'm from Northern Illinois, lived in Chicago the last 25 years. Where are you at?

Crazy! I lived downtown for 5 years. First at State and Ontario and then 1 block West of the Hancock on Delaware!
