I don't have no choice ... but I still choose you

To round out the worry on the hard drive last week ... IT can't recover ANYTHING from it. Good news: No porn will be found. Bad news: I've lost three years of work emails that I had archived because I was an idiot and forgot to copy over the .pst file. Yup ( Read more... )

I'm pretty much the same ... but also being realistic that it was all my fault for not copying the right stuff over and deleting the bad stuff. I'm rather Zen with it, really.

I have to take a 5-hour ride via car for work this evening. Maybe I can write while someone else is driving? LOL

I'm with you on the impending birthday doom and gloom. D:

Sucks that you lost everything. :( Did you have the porn saved elsewhere? LOL, I'm happy no one will find it, but I unfortunately know how much it sucks to lose fic!

Haha you passed it well! I still have ... two more weeks to go. Blah.

I did have the forethought to email myself the fics - mostly so I would have them at home, too. So I'm lucky there :D

What a mess.

I am waiting for that to happen to me. Last week after booting my computer at work I got the blue screen of death. We have automatic backups scheduled, but I thought that I had better run one manually, just in case my computer was about to die. At the start I was prompted to have a floppy disk ready, which would store some crucial piece of information needed to recover the backup. I was amazed to realize that my computer had a floppy drive. I was even more amazed that we had floppy disks in the office. Six hours later it prompted me to pop in the disk and then it couldn't find it. I tried three more and it couldn't find those either. I could have called our IT department, but I was too irritated to do so without yelling at someone.

Your post reminds me that I should at the very least make sure my email is backed up somewhere.
