The hell are you doing here and not practicing at the tra-" At that exact point in the middle of the syllable, Hawkeye happened to see Amelia's face rather than the back of her head. "-ck...Thought you looked a bit tall, you ain't Grant. Never mind."

Some time later, Hawkeye and Amelia stood outside the door to Alexandra's apartment. Before knocking, Hawkeye directed Amelia to stand against the wall to the side of the door, at least somewhat out of sight. Then he raised his hand and knocked thrice.

Some part of his body obviously remembers, because he manages to lean back in the direction of the boxing glove's trajectory, so while it still reaches his very vulnerable nose, it doesn't so much bust his face open as evoke a memory of the previous act of being opened via busting. It still hurts a bit though.
