Oh, I recognized the author just from the summary, and am thrilled to death because Isimply adore their Dudley (and the universe he inhabits)! No doubt it'll be as excellent as the rest of their works! *runs off to read*

If those who read it had half the fun I had in writing it, I am content.

I have the brightest, most ridiculously pleased smile on my face right now, thanks to that brilliant last line of yours. ♥ This story is just wonderful on so many levels; the language you write with is clever and witty, I honestly had to reread certain paragraphs to wrap my mind around the skill of your wordcraft. And your characterisation of Dudley is so, so excellent - all your characters, really. I love that you've differentiated Albus from Harry; so many writers like to make Albus a Harry-clone and I love that your Dudley not only acknowledges that Albus is, yet isn't, is father, and loves him all the more for it. In truth, though, I think I loved that small moment between Dudley and George the best. Two characters who, for all purposes, should have little to nothing in common, and you've connected them in such a smart, conceivable way, it's just brilliant. Such excellent work! This is most definitely getting saved as a favourite. ♥

I'm unconscionably pleased and preening. Thank you. And of course, we must thank George and Dud, who walked in and took over.

This is absolutely wonderful. You have brought the world of Harry Potter properly into England for me. Not with waving torches about and riding lifts and lorries, but with "schools and charms and sloths and prides and herds and flocks", "Bindweeds and corncockles, bromes, madders, and poppies". You've made a proper, solid man of Dudley, and I particularly like how his apparent slowness turns out to be a mask for his depth of perception when it comes to interpersonal relationships and personalities. Really beautifully written. Thank you.

This is absolutely sensational, (Not So) Mystery Author! ;-) I really love how you describe and explain the family dynamics, and how Dudley can see things so much more clearly than most of them can. The reasons why, the lack of parenting or oldest sibling role models or confusion or whatever the case is. How this doesn't dismiss the damage or behavior, but gives it a whole new light. And Dudley's determination to help, not by taking James down a notch, but by building Albus UP is so beautifully inspirational. Love it. And the end: teach them to box? YES, yes, yes, yes, yes! Spot on. Perfection. Utterly grand.

(Oh, and Ron's chess skills not carrying over to whist or poker-- I laughed so hard!)
