[RL - Dante and Kadaj]

Dec 06, 2007 03:59

Dante's hanging out at Costa Del Sol, glancing around at the pedestrians irritably. He knows he was supposed to meet Kadaj here, but hasn't a clue as to the when, so now he's sitting here. Waiting.

Really pissed off, but hey, that's a given.

((Kadaj, this here's a placeholder post, since we haven't caught each other on AIM in like a week! We ( Read more... )

After what could be an hour or so, Kadaj finally makes some kind of an appearance; he doesn't seem to be in the best of moods himself, a scowl on his face, his leather scuffed and torn in a couple of places. Truth is, he hasn't been home since fighting Larxene, and even a Potion or two won't help to cheer him up. He spots Dante and glares at him, skulking over to the man in red and stopping a short distance away, his voice edged with malice.

"So. You made it."

((OOC: I haven't been online properly for three days, yay.))

Kadaj doesn't even bother giving an answer; he's too busy leaping towards the young couple, screams starting to erupt from onlookers as holidaymakers start to realise what's going on. In two swift steps, Kadaj reaches the pair, his sword held at the girl's throat, his other arm outstretched as if to fire a spell at the man.

"Well, Dante? Which one first?"

Dante comes to an immediate stop when he sees the hostages, and his glare is murderous. "I dunno, Princess," he says casually, despite his fury. "It's a hard decision."

He draws his second gun. "How about you." He opens fire with both guns -- if Kadaj doesn't move fast, he'll have more holes in him than he'll know what to do with.

Swearing, Kadaj immediately leaps away from his current position, his hostages dropping to the sandy beach to avoid being riddled with holes from Dante's gun. Snarling, Kadaj is already heading for another target, a lone woman trying to flee the scene; sneering, he grabs her and pulls her in front of him, using her as a human shield.

"Feel like firing again, asshole?"

Dante stops shooting, but keeps his guns aimed like they are. "Let her go," he says. "Now."

"Or what?" he giggles, his blade held at the woman's neck. "Or you'll shoot?"

He presses his sword against her skin, drawing a thin line of blood.

"Or I'll fucking kill you, and it'll hurt, I promise." He takes a few tentative steps closer. "Besides, I thought you were here to fight me."

"I am!" Kadaj giggles, seeming to be enjoying himself immensely. "But I thought it'd be a crying shame not to share the fun with anyone else!"

The lady's crying now, but damnit, Dante can't do a thing with how things stand. "You planning on standing there all day?" he asks, feigning boredom, even if he knows Kadaj won't buy it for a second. "Me, I've got stuff to do."

"You're no fun." Pouting now, Kadaj thrusts the girl to one side, not caring as she collapses to her knees, nearly in hysterics. "There I was, hoping you'd try and play the hero, but all you do is act like you're bored, and I don't think that's nice."

He levels his blade at Dante, a petulant look on his face.

"You're starting to get on my nerves."

Dante knows that "playing hero" would have done nothing but gotten the girl decapitated -- or worse -- so Kadaj's barbs don't bother him. "Maybe I'm just not that nice a guy, princess," he says, but he doesn't take another step closer until the girl scrambles away.

Then he levels his guns and smirks.

"Am I? Then why don't you do something about it."

"Maybe I will." Smirking again, Kadaj leaps the distance between the two of them, his feet almost clipping the barrel of Dante's gun as he swiftly clears the space over Dante's head. He lands a short distance behind the demon-hunter, already holding out his arm to cast Bolt.

Dante tracks Kadaj's movements turns, keeping his guns trained on the man. When Kadaj raises his arm, Dante shoots off a couple rounds -- not taking the time for accuracy -- before rolling to dodge the magic.

Kadaj manages to dodge the first few shots, but curses as the lightning bolt streaks wide of Dante in return, setting a sun lounger alight a few hundred metres away. Undeterred, he sprints behind the half-cover of a deck chair and fires off another Bolt, aiming for Dante's chest.

Dante glances back to glance at the flames -- at least most of the people have had the sense to run, by now. It distracts him for less than a second, but that's long enough for the next magical attack to strike him.

It knocks him flat on his back and scorches his chest. He flips back to his feet, snarling.

Kadaj laughs loudly, gloating over the fact that Dante got caught full-on by the blast.

"Not so fast now, are you, demon-boy?" he giggles, pointing at the man in red. "I told you you'd find other people nothing but a distraction! You're so weak!"
