So this is my contribution to the hmd_rareathon, because sometimes you just have to try something different ;-) My prompt was a picture of an old record player and the pairing I chose was Cuddy/Scooter. No, seriously. It basically follows the events of Conspiracy of Hope but you don't need to read that one to follow this one.

I particularly loved this bit, “You have no idea what I think,” House said harshly. “You don’t even have any idea what you think.”

“Yeah, I don’t know you at all.”

“You don’t.” House picked up his sandwich and took a huge bite.

“So you’re not going to show up at Cuddy’s house in the middle of the night or cancel their dinner reservations or make Henry work extra shifts?”\

“Duh.” House chewed with his mouth open, crumbs tumbling from his lips. Wilson averted his eyes in disgust. “Cuddy would be hurt if I didn’t.”
Which is perfect, like a scene lifted straight from the tv screen.

Thanks :-) I worried I was putting too much House into a Cuddy/Henry story, but then again I don't know that it's possible to have Cuddy/anyone without House sticking his nose in LOL

I do love that you write Cuddy/Henry. It's such a perfect fit actually.

As you say, kind of hard to have Cuddy and Henry around without House and Wilson, I think that's why that scene was so strikingly perfect to me.

Thanks so much for the fb. I really enjoyed House and Scooter's interactions but I was curious as to how House would react if Scooter became a rival (in any sense.)

Oh, marvelous. <3 <3 Just marvelous. I love them dancing at the end; I love how Henry is so TOTALLY unfazed by House; I love Cuddy putting the fortune inside her blouse. <3

I think that's why I found the idea of Cuddy/Henry so intriguing--the fact that he's not fazed by House. He's one person House can't intimidate.

So wonderful! Cuddy's a little harsh to House with the "all your good traits, none of your bad," but of course he won't listen if she's any milder than that. Actually, we both know he's not going to listen anyway, but oh well.

Any time you want to write more Henry/Cuddy, I'll be there with bells on. : )

Agreed--Cuddy is harsh with House. I haven't decided if that's because she's afraid he'll ruin another romance... or because she's afraid he's right.
