On Underwater Dreams, and the Duration of Love

I wondered if there was an adjectival word relating to all things dream-like. Presumably ending in -ic. Like how “ludic” refers to that which is gamelike or playful.

And so I type into Google “of or pertaining to dreams”, and immediately get back:

for what it is worth, i have seen several examples of lifelong love, including my parents, who i believe loved each other to the day my mother died (and though my father has dated other people and may fall in love again and even remarry, it's pretty clear that a part of his heart will always belong to my mother).

Oh indeed! The reason it's a question that I keep thinking about, year after year, is because despite all evidence of loves which don't last, I also have known numerous examples of those that do. It's a complex question, to me. (And one which I bring up here in only a very glancing fashion.)

I've seen some frozen blood dish on Bizarre Foods, maybe popsicles?

Last year, I got Alice a membership to the WSFS, and she's been thoroughly working her way through the Hugo nominees on her Kindle. Of course, getting the whole Wheel of Time series has made it take longer than expected... It's been a long time since she read them, so it was a pleasant surprise!

Hey, I didn't think you were still on here! Figured you were one of the many folk who had fallen off long ago. :)

Reading the Hugo nominees is awesome! (I'm looking forward to doing that again this year.)

But actually attempting to read the entire WoT as a result? That's simply insane. :D

I'm still around, though I only check in every week or two. Sometimes I don't notice that I'm not logged in, and miss posts until they've been up for a month or more.

Insane? Sure, I guess so. I married her for a reason!

She asked me to not renew her membership. She's only 38% through WoT, so she doesn't think she has time to read yet another year's worth. Maybe it will be a biennial gift. :)
